So how did we make the act of selecting pixels on a grid interesting?

Tomorrow marks the end for Google’s lesser known but incredible email application Inbox, so I wanted to put down my thoughts on why this was such a great piece of software and will be missed.

After a few days of letting this swirl around my head, I’m still having thoughts about this not-console console. I still don’t love the idea from a game developer point of view, which I’ll share why, but at the same time, I’m starting to feel out some potential in the project.

Like many people I use my iPhone for working out, there’s a lot of apps that are great for tracking sessions, and it’s able to tell you distances, footsteps and elevation. I don’t have an Apple Watch, but I know that it can add more such as heart rate tracking.

EDIT: This ended up way longer and more rambling than I expected, but hey it was my stream of thoughts and I don’t have much control over them. I’ll improve my process in time.

Yesterday Google announced their video game console-like service named Stadia. I initially saw the promotional video and was left quite perplexed, as it seemed like an exercise in creating a marketing video, filled with cliched statements and stock visuals of people in varying states of excitement, but zero information on what it was actually selling or revealing. Very odd.
